Role Overview
Crossect Development Services is seeking a dedicated Business Development Officer to support efforts in identifying and securing new business opportunities, grants, consultancy assignments, and strategic partnerships. The role involves contributing to opportunity identification, proposal and concept note development, bid coordination, donor and client research, and effective grants management. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with relevant teams to develop competitive proposals and ensure the efficient management of secured opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and track relevant grants, tenders, consultancy opportunities, requests for proposals, and expressions of interest.
- Conduct research on potential donors, development partners, clients, and business opportunities.
- Maintain an up-to-date pipeline of funding and business development opportunities.
- Support the preparation of concept notes, expressions of interest, technical proposals, and grant applications.
- Coordinate proposal development processes, ensuring alignment with timelines, inputs, budgets, and supporting documentation.
- Assist in preparing capability statements, organizational profiles, and other essential business development materials.
- Aid in developing partnerships and identifying potential consortium and implementation partners.
- Monitor procurement portals, donor platforms, and other relevant sources for new opportunities.
- Maintain a comprehensive database of submitted proposals, opportunities, outcomes, and upcoming deadlines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Development Studies, Business Administration, Economics, Public Administration, International Development, Communications, or a related field. A master’s degree is desirable.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in grants, business development, proposal development, fundraising, consultancy, or project management.
- Experience developing proposals, concept notes, expressions of interest, or grant applications.
- Strong understanding of donor-funded projects and the international development sector.
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
- Strong communication and relationship-management skills.
- Capacity to work independently while effectively collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience with international development donors, NGOs, consulting firms, or government contracting is an advantage.

The Finance Officer at Crossect Development Services will assist in the daily financial operations, accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and financial controls across the organization's corporate and project activities. This role will collaborate closely with program and management teams to ensure accurate financial records, appropriate fund usage, and adherence to organizational and donor requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting and financial records.
- Process payments, receipts, invoices, expenses, and other financial transactions.
- Support preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Assist with project budgets, budget monitoring, and expenditure tracking.
- Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets and highlight significant variances.
- Maintain proper documentation for all financial transactions.
- Support payroll, statutory payments, and other routine financial obligations.
- Assist with cash-flow management and financial forecasting.
- Support financial reporting for donor-funded projects.
- Review supporting documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with financial policies.
- Assist with internal and external audits and provide requested financial documentation.
- Support procurement and vendor payment processes.
- Maintain financial filing systems and ensure appropriate document retention.
- Assist in strengthening financial controls, procedures, and reporting systems.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in accounting, finance, or financial administration.
- Professional accounting qualification or progress toward one such as ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent is an advantage.
- Good understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting or financial management software.
- Experience with project or donor-funded financial management is beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle financial information responsibly.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
